Do you know what we're fighting for?
when it's not worth fighting for?
We are in a place unknown,
where our friends have never thought of going.

The draft was so unjust
and registering was a must.
Some were drafted and forced to go.
Others volunteered or avoided it.

We do kill our enemies
and that was part of our victories.
But the people we are protecting
turn out to be our foes.

The morale among us is low
and we know why this is so.
All this combat is confusing us.
We don't know whether we win or not.

We were sent to a place to fight
for freedom and people's rights.
But all we caused is grief and fear
So we might as well just go back home.

Most of us are going insane
Hanging over our heads is pain.
We all wait for the enemy
To shoot before we fire at them

We place sorrow and anger upon
the good people of Vietnam.
We had no business there anyway.
So why were we there in the first place?

I felt that I needed to write this because I procrastinate. A LOT. Even as I wrote this, I'm shrugging off a debate project for Humanities. I'm also pretty good at not managing my time. If procrastination was a well-paid job, I'd be rich. I'm not trying to discourage people, but it's kind of hard to not procrastinate. Everyone does it, even parents, surprisingly. It takes practice to stop procrastinating. I'm just not practicing enough.

So this is my first time using DeviantArt. It's really cool and it's a place that people can share their art, which I like. I'm not going to go on and say that I have the best art in the world, but what I will say is that I'm good at what I do best- drawing. So feel free to be an a-hole about this or to give me some tips on art. I don't care. I joined here because this is what I like to do.
